Built on the site of a former hospital, this multiple award winning building takes the form of several industrial units which historically stood at this end of the high street. The steel structure enabled uninteruption to the vaulted ceilings inside the store whilst also providing much needed support to the buildings interesting brickwork details. Projecting flemish bond as well as hit and miss panels for plant room ventilation add interest to the large masonry elevations. Although close liaison with the heritage officer was needed throughout, a modern take on old form has resulted in this stunning addition to the market town.
